Alerts
Click the <Utilities><Alerts> menu to open the window containing alert responses. You can also click the 
button on the toolbar.
Click the "Settings" button on the bottom left of the window to setup the alerts:
There are separate alert setting for each channel.
Enable Alerts for this channel - this will enable alert detection for this channel.
Alert Criteria
Alert Condition - drop down the list box to select the desired condition to test for an alert - these include comparing the spectral data against the overlays in a variety of ways.
Threshold Level - enter the threshold level at which the alert will occur. The overlay comparison conditions do not use the threshold level.
Duration - enter the duration in seconds that the signal must exceed the threshold before an alert is declared.
Set Markers - allows quick access to set the maker frequencies for conditions that use them. Note that the markers do not need to be enabled.
Alert Actions
Beep via PC speaker - this will cause a repeating beep tone to emit from the PC speakers. Please note that the Windows sound settings determine the default device for PC sounds. If the PC speakers are muted or the volume is low you will not hear the audible alert.
There is a corresponding enable beep button on the utility window to allow you to quickly turn on or off the audible alerts.
Set Digital Output Line state on the SpectraDAQ-200 - this will set one of the digital output lines for controlling external equipment, relays or lights.
Alert Message Text - Customize the alert messages as needed for your test application. These are displayed in the utility window. The message will be red when the alert criteria is exceeded.
Alarm Duration - Controls how long you want the alert to persist after the signal falls below the alert threshold.
Notes
The Alert Utility window must remain open for alerts to be processed.
The Alert Utility can be resized so that the messages can be easily viewed from a distance.
